Main purpose of job :

The British Embassy Quito’s Corporate Services Department is recruiting an intern to assist the department supporting various projects in estates compliance, inventories, vehicles, import processes, fire safety and administration issues among others.

Roles and responsibilities :

The intern will support the corporate services team across a wide range of areas including accounting, auctions, administration, and estates. The intern will work with other colleagues, as well as performing other ad hoc tasks required to assist with the functioning of the Embassy.

In addition, all members of the BEQ staff play an important role in responding to crises, should they arise. The intern will receive crisis training to enable him / her to fulfil this part of the role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Essential on arrival :

  • You must be eligible under the relevant Ecuadorean legal requirements, namely that you must be currently enrolled in a Higher Education institution at an undergraduate level.
  • Interest in administration and accounting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities.
  • Manage various pieces of work at the same time.
  • You must have the legal status to live and work in Ecuador.
  • Good writing skills in Spanish and English.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

Desirable :

  • Interest in organizing files.
  • Knowledge of inventories systems.

    Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list. If during the reserve period of 6 months the same or largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second of subsequent candidate.
